what do you think?

What do you think?

Describe the process you took to present your scene.  What went well? Not so well? What would you do differently next time you had to do a scene?
Well the process of my scene was not hard but not easy was in the middle. Because some lines were hard, it was difficult to memorize the words. It went well but not that much, because we messed up once we were kind of nervous. Also it was our first time acting in public. If i would do it again i would try not to mess up and not to be shy, and pratice a little more to memorize better my lines.

Power: Test Question

In a short essay (5 paragraphs) explain this quote:

"Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely."

Make sure you  give examples of how this is true both in Macbeth and in real life.

It means that if a person is given any sort of power, they are likely to become corrupt in the area in which they are given power. They become more bossy because they  think that they have the power to do anything they wat. And it may also mean Absolute power is when a person is given complete and total control and the final say in everything.
People in power are often corrupt, and the more power they have the more bossy they are.some may have the absoulte power but one who has total authority is very likely to abuse his position in any way. Like Hitler he had alot of power when he was a live but he abused it by killing alot of innocent people.
For example, Macbeth went to go kill the king and Macbeth and his Lady Macbeth became king and queen. Lady macbeth was very happy  that she became queen because she wanted power, authority. Which also made her have absolute power over everything With this power that she been wanting she could take over anything and kill someone by just saying one word.
When someone has gives the power to someone else, like leave them in charge of a place or thing they believe that they can do anything just because they are in charge, and they can treat other like nothing and hurt them by doing that.
Absolute Power is taking advantage of everything and doing what they want. they should not be like that becuase there will be a time that they will be treated like they treated other, and feel how the others felt when they were doing it to them.

Discuss inaction. Is one less guilty of a crime if they let it happen but did not take an active role in it? Compare inaction to action---Are there levels of guilt?

For me if you saw something or knew something that is going to happen your guilty. Therefore you know what was going to happen even if you did not take an active role on it. But you did mentally, your part of it because you could stop anything bad that can happen to someone.

So What is up with Macduff?

What will Macbeth do about Banquo?

I think that Macbeth or Lady Macbeth will kill Banquo or get Banquo killed, or Lady Macbeth and Macbeth will hire someone to kill Banquo

Directors

What are the factors that influence how a director presents a scene? Why do you think different directors see things so differently?

For me every director has his own vision of things. Some directors are more creative than others because they more open mind than others.

Manliness

Discuss the question, what does it mean to be a “man”?  Do you agree with Lady Macbeth’s view? Or do you think Macbeth’s consideration is more “manly”?

A man to me is someone who can protec for himself and his family Also a man is that someone is in charge of everything to make rule that will protect him and his love one but rule can be strict because they might hurt someone. But for me Lady Macbeth is for manly than Macbeth because for me macbeth is a wimp.
Why do you think the author had Macbeth win, though he wrote Fortune seemed to favor Macdonwald?  What sort of man fights like Macbeth did?

For me the author had macbeth win because he had the fortune and that made him decide over him a sort of man fights like macbeth did is a man that does not leave a job completely done. he made sure that thee his worse enemy was dead and macbeth made sure that anything that was a danger to him or anyone was done with.

Questions

How do the right questions help you access text better? What difficulties did you find asking questions?

Some questions are easy because that question you might be ready has the answer to another question. For me that makes it easier becuase some questions solve one question and the next question 1  but i find it hard becuase some question do not have the answer to other questions, and i get stuck.

Paranoia

Paranoia

Are Macbeth’s paranoia due to his own weakness or a consequence of what he did?

I think that Macbeth's paranoia is because the consequences. And also he is thinking of the mistakes that he has done. Also he is feeling guilty of what he has done.

weakness

Weakness

Who is weaker? Macbeth or Lady Macbeth?  Why?

For me the weaker is Macbeth because in the story Lady Macbeth did all the dirty job. If Macbeth did something he would be feeling guilty for what he did. But for Lady Macbeth she was not afraid of anything, she would not feel guiltiness about anything. When they were planing something Lady Macbeth was the one feeling really confident about it, but for Macbeth he always thought that what they have planned would not come right. So for me Macbeth is the weakest one and not Lady Macbeth.

To Be a Man

Discuss the question, what does it mean to be a “man”?  Do you agree with Lady Macbeth’s view? Or do you think Macbeth’s consideration is more “manly”?

On my view of point to be a man is to be brave and not coward down to anything. You should do what you have set your mind on. I hink that Lady Macbeth's view is right because for me she would be a good man because she has a good manly man personality. She has that point that she is not scared of anything or anyone.

Ambition

"Whose ambition is driving this killing of Duncan, really? It is
clear that neither character is telling Duncan or Banquo how
they really feel, but do they tell one another?  Be sure to pick
lines that show you both direct and indirect evidence for your
argument."

For me Lady Macbeth is trying to kill king Duncan, and Macbeth or  anyone that steps on her way. she only wants to have everything for herself. She wants to rule everything, and take over. that why she wants to be turn to a man for nobody to know that she is Lady Macbeth, and everyone will think that she is the king and they will only serve for her.

witches

"Now that you have seen several versions of the witches, which version do you think is the best?"

my favorite version of the old witches, because most witches are know to be like that. In most of the story that i have read most witches are old and mean that don't have compassion for nobody, that don't care about nobody or about what they have to say about them. when they someone says witches i always think that they are old.

Trust issues

Discuss the issue of trust.  Is it ever possible to truly trust someone?  Be sure to cite evidence on both sides of the issue.

Depends on who you trust someone. Because if you trust someone, and you tell someone your secrets now they know something about you and might tell everyone you're bussiness. You cant trust no one this days. But also depend on that person. Family can be more trust worthy, but sometimes not. You may trust your friends, but at some point both of you might get into a fight for something dumb, and that "friend" might go around and tell stuff about you. And you may also feel like you trust that person but you never really know him or she; because maybe you havent got in the bad side of them.

Predictions

  • Do predictions come true because they were destined to come true, or because people make them happen because it was predicted (like a self-fulfilling prophesy)?

I think that predictions come true because they were destined to come true or sometimes people make them happen. Predictions may happen when you least expect it. some people expect them to come true, but they dont come true at the moment. but really predictions are ment to come true.
